It’s invaluable to have a community of fellow fine-art buffs at your fingertips and many friendships have blossomed from this group too.
Focus Portrait Awards
The FOCUS Portrait Awards is a monthly competition judged by myself, Evelina Skersyte and David Shoukry. The FPA was created to motivate and push photographers to keep producing award-worthy work! Each month, awards are given in the form of Bronze, Silver and Gold to the entries that meet the judging criteria. Judges look out for images that make a visual impact, evoke viewer emotion, as well as tick all the technical boxes such as showing a good display of exposure, lighting, colour balance etc! Monthly, the judges select one winner to be crowned ‘judges choice’ – the receiver of this award also receives a custom designed framed print from our friends over at Digitalab. Not only is this a great way to keep pushing the boundaries of your talent, entries are completely free for focus members!! The entry fee is included in the £27 per month membership, saving you some ££ to spend on yourself!
